Shoki Imari plates

Set of five shoki Imari plates with plum design. Blue underglaze on white porcelain (sometsuke) the rims having wavy relief work (yokoku). This exact design appears in Shibata Collection Part II, page 73 plate number 171, and Shibata Complete Catalog number. 0801 at page 108 (1655-1670s).  Tiny nicks repaired in gintsugi (silver) traditional Japanese craft. Small foot characteristic of shoki, and earlier than ko-Imari. 

7-7/8" (19.7 cm) diameter x 1" (2.5 cm) high. Sold as set with wooden box.
