Chinese pottery jar, Neolithic period (Yangshao 3000 – 1500 B.C.) Two applied strap handles connect everted rim to shoulder. Low-fired earthenware body decorated in black, maroon and brown painted double-circles enclosing honeycomb grids. Upper two inches of interior rim painted in a thin circle of maroon wash. Remarkable condition considering age; preserved as burial artifact. 4-1/2” high. 5-1/2” diameter at widest. 2-3/8” diameter at flat base
